The Pokémon Company International is gearing up to drop this new expansion next week. Mark your calendars, folks: the Wisdom of Sea and Sky is almost here in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. Yeah, jot it down somewhere before you forget.
Alright, so here’s the deal: starting on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, you’ll run into some old favorites from the Johto region—remember Pokémon Gold and Silver? Seems so long ago, right? Anyway, we’re talking Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile, plus the legendary duo Lugia and Ho-Oh. Kind of like a mini-reunion or something.
Oh, and here’s a twist—some Pokémon are gonna have attacks that don’t need Energy. Yep, you read that right. Means all us trainers can start concocting all sorts of wild strategies for building decks and battling.
There’s also some sprucing up of the Trade feature—speaking of which, here’s what’s cooking:
First, there’s this Wishlist Feature. Finally! Players can stick cards they’re hunting for into their wishlist. Jump over to the My Cards screen, and you can list up to 20 cards. Pick three to spotlight on your profile—because why not show off a little?
Then, they’re tinkering with the Trade system—no more trade tokens. Poof! Gone. But wait, shinedust steps in, which you need if you want those cards with ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦, and ★ rarities. Sounds kind of magical, I guess. Gather shinedust by completing missions, achievements, or getting card duplicates. You can swap your old tokens for pack hourglasses and shinedust in the shop. Just a heads-up: once the update hits, forget trading tokens for cards. It’s a wrap after July 30 at 01:00 UTC.
And let’s not forget, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket’s already kicking around on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android. So if you haven’t jumped on that train yet, what are you waiting for?
Wow, almost forgot—there’s a trailer for Pokémon TCG Pocket Wisdom of Sea and Sky. Might want to give that a look, but where did I put that link? Not sure. Check YouTube, maybe?
