Okay, so here’s the deal—XR Games just did a thing, and it’s honestly kinda cool if you’re into VR and music. They finally pushed their rhythm game, BEATABLE, out of early access on Quest. I mean, if you’re someone who likes to slap your desk in time to music, they’ve got you covered with a ton of new stuff. What were they thinking? Well, using your table as a haptic device. Genius or madness? You decide.
You don’t even need controllers. Just a Quest 2 and your hands. Yeah, slap and clap. That’s all it takes to hit those notes flying at you. Simple, right? Probably easier said than done, but still—a solid idea.
So, get this, they already dropped five songs back in April. That was right after early access kicked off. Now they rolled out a massive update. Not kidding, it’s big. And guess what? There’s this custom song and map editor now. Feel like being the next big VR DJ? Here’s your chance to create and share your tracks. Oh, and compete too. Because why not clash with some random online?
Oh, jeez, nearly forgot—the playlist. They’ve ramped it up to 24 songs. Twelve were in early access, and now you’ve got the likes of Kudo Haruka with an anime-style banger and something heavy from Mikee Goodman (remember SikTh?).
We got our hands on the early version back in April, and—wow—precision was a bit meh then. Like hitting the beat was, um, tricky? But they’re saying they’ve got better gesture detection now. Apparently, you won’t be missing beats anymore. I guess they improved the visuals too. More feedback during gameplay. That sort of thing.
Anyway, you can find BEATABLE on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above. Ten bucks, folks. Not a bad deal if you ask me. Go give it a look. Or not. Your call.
