Sure thing! Here goes my messy, human-style take on it:

Okay, so there’s this new SpongeBob game, and guess what? It’s skipping the Nintendo Switch. What?! Yeah, exactly. Apparently, THQ Nordic, the peeps behind the game, have decided to roll with the Switch 2. I’m kinda scratching my head over this one because, like, most of us can’t even get our hands on the Switch 2 yet! What are they thinking?
So here’s the scoop. This whole SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide thing popped up outta nowhere when people noticed it got an age rating in South Korea and Germany. I mean, who even checks that stuff? Anyway, it’s a thing now, and THQ Nordic is making it for PCs and the new-gen consoles. I think they teased something like this in 2024, but who remembers that far back?
If you’re wondering when you can play it, jot down November 18, 2025. It’ll be on your PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and, of course, the elusive Switch 2. Bad luck if you’re still vibing with the old Switch, PS4, or Xbox One. Oh, and it’ll cost you about 40 bucks. Supposedly, there’s this whisper that THQ Nordic might spill some official beans soon—like in 15 days or during some big event in August. I dunno why this matters, but there you go.
Anyway—and here’s a kicker—the Switch 2 is selling like hotcakes, or should I say like that limited edition espresso I tried last week? But here’s the buzzkill: not everyone can get one because, duh, stock issues. So, I guess even though the game will look awesome on more powerful hardware, missing out on the OG Switch might smack its sales around a bit.
But hey, maybe by the time the game drops, everyone will have scored their Switch 2s. Fingers crossed, right? Meanwhile, I’ll just be here watching and waiting… and occasionally playing the harder-than-it-should-be SpongeBob games we already have. Who knew a cartoon sponge could be such a challenge?
