Women ballers in NBA 2K26! Like, wow, about time, right? Anyway, they’re finally gonna hit the virtual courts, alongside the dudes, in the MyTeam mode. If you ask me, that’s kinda rad. So, there’s this new thing called Breakout: Gauntlet — sounds intense, huh? — where the challenges get all sorts of crazy because you get to use each card only once. Stressful? Maybe. Fun? Probably.
Okay, random thought, but I’ve been watching WNBA on 2K since they threw those teams in back in 2K20. Crazy it’s already been a few years! Oh, and remember when Candace Parker was on the 2K22 cover? That was a moment. Anyway — oh wait, what was I saying? — yeah, so this new update tries to make NBA and WNBA player cards stick to the same rules with their Attributes and Badges. The deal is to make gameplay fair, they say, but we’ll see how that pans out.
Figured I’d mention — there’s a video on YouTube if you’re into that whole visual thing.
Meanwhile, EA’s been up to stuff too. Their game FC 26 — used to be FIFA or something — is adding more female Icons in Ultimate Team. Kinda cool they’ve mixed the genders on the pitch for a while now. Might not be smooth sailing, but hey, progress is progress.
I can’t help but ponder how these WNBA stars are gonna fit into the 2K26 MyTeam meta. EA had a bumpy ride with it, if you ask around. But if anyone’s gonna make these lady ballers stand out, it better be 2K. Oh, forgot to say—you get these new WNBA cards, a Domination tier, and even the option to suit your team in all WNBA gear. Neat, right?
Mark your calendars or whatever, ’cause NBA 2K26 drops September 5th. If you’re the impatient type — who isn’t? — there’s early access on August 29th on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and even PC. So, yeah, get ready for a ride!
