Disney Dreamlight Valley went all-out with this Community Companion thing over the summer. Seriously, if you were tuned in, you’d know they’re finally showing off the winning companion design. And—sigh—still no word on when it’ll pop up in the game. So yeah, stay on your toes for updates. It’s like waiting for a bus that might show up… or not.
Okay, see that picture up there? Right, it’s from when you’re maxing out your friendships in the game. Random thought: ever notice how high-pitched the game sounds get when you level up a companion? It’s like a squeaky balloon somehow. Anyway, companions—they’re not just for cuddles. They boost your friend levels like some kind of social steroid (that’s a term, right?) and, among other things, they haul more loot for you. Super useful, really. Almost as much as that footstool from Beauty and the Beast, if you’re into quirky furniture. Oh, and R2-D2 pops in. No idea how he fits into this fairy tale mix, but hey, why not?
I was going on about companions. There’s a new one, born from June’s community votes—a dragon, of all things, dripping in cottagecore vibes? Yeah, with flowers everywhere. The most popular option by far was this pink dragon, covered in cherry blossoms. Because who doesn’t want a dragon that looks like it’s permanently springtime? The other choices? A sunflower and a fall leaf-themed thing. Guess the folks love them some cherry blossoms.
Now, everyone’s buzzing about how to grab this new buddy. Usually, it’s a shopping thing—those premium shops, you know? But don’t lose hope; sometimes you get quests or maybe even craft them. The Ancient Robot started like that, so fingers crossed.
And here’s another thing. Since the community had a major say, there’s a chance that this floral dragon might do something quirky. Look at Max the sheepdog (from uh, The Little Mermaid?). He breaks all the companion norms, digging up treasures and whatnot. If this dragon could, I don’t know, shower petals that turn into coins…that would be something.
Who knows what’ll happen next? But that’s the fun with these games, right? They keep throwing curveballs, while we players just sit back, snack on some popcorn, and go along for the ride. 🎮
