Fast-paced, hardcore, 2D platformer game, ION Shift, it’s finally dropping today. Seriously, I’ve been waiting. Flynn’s Arcade and Electro Soul Games brought it to the Nintendo Switch. Why do I care? I don’t know, but I do. Feels kind of like waiting for the ice cream truck or something nostalgic.
Oh, and here’s a bizarre thing—there’s this image prompt asking your birth date. I mean, why would a video game trailer need to know my age? Anyway, where was I? Right—platformer shenanigans.
So, ION Shift, what’s up with it? Think frantic alien races through a colossal space ship. Seriously, it’s like a nightmare of hostile weirdos with guns and lasers all over. You’ve got this alien critter, you steer it—or maybe it steers you? Haven’t figured that out yet. Survival is the name of the game. Or something dramatic like that. Turrets, laser drones, soldiers—like, someone didn’t want visitors, you know?
But here’s the kicker. It’s not your usual hack-and-slash. It’s got style. Combat’s done in these sandbox arenas—kind of reinventing what “combat” even means. You’re dashing around, deploying the coolest throwables—whatever those are. So, strategy, right? Yeah, sounds serious. If I wasn’t hooked before, I’m curious now.
Oh, and heads up—we’re putting together a review over at PS4Blog.net. Hopefully, it makes more sense than my rambling. I mean, not trying to lose your interest, but I heard the game is… stares into space What was I saying? Just check back with us, alright?
