It’s Sonic’s 30th anniversary—crazy, right? Not sure how it got here so fast. Anyway, we’ve got some rough idea of what’s happening with the Switch 2 as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds revs up its engines. Well, sort of.
So, there’s this trailer—super into customization, if that’s your jam. Sega’s saying the Switch 2 version lands “holiday.” Yeah, real specific. Meanwhile, for those sticking with Switch 1, mark your calendars for September 25. By the way, it’s going to set you back $69.99 on Switch 2, $59.99 for Switch 1. Oh joy, an extra ten bucks, but hey, there’s an upgrade option! Progress and DLC, they’ll tag along—thank goodness for small mercies. Oh, and if you’re into physical copies, hold your horses till 2026 for the Switch 2 version. Not that anyone’s counting the days or anything.
Speaking of Sega, they caught some flak recently. When Sonic x Shadow Generations jumped onto Switch 2—June 5, to be precise—there was no upgrade path. Nice one, Sega. I guess sometimes you just can’t win ’em all.
