Hey, so there’s this game coming out soon for Xbox Series X and S, like next week, I think? Anyway, it’s called Echoes of the End. Totally a fantasy thing, full of magic and swords and whatnot. I watched this crazy 17-minute clip, and even though they changed the combat since, it gave me chills. I swear, something in the way they mix story and action just feels… well, I dunno, different?
So, Myrkur Games from Iceland, ever heard of them? Kinda new on the scene (2016 new), but they’ve got Deep Silver publishing, the same folks behind some other big hits like Dead Island 2. And, curiously, no reviews dropping yet, though there was a combat update video that might be worth a look if you’re curious. People had some feelings about the original version, I guess.
Detail-wise, you’re playing as Ryn. Picture wielding wild magic, trying to rescue a brother from some evil empire. Deep stuff. She teams up with a dude named Abram Finlay – a scholar with a murky past. They’re uncovering secrets, dodging chaos, and it’s all wrapped in themes of trust and redemption. Perhaps a bit melodramatic? But hey, who doesn’t like a little drama?
Oh, and the screenshots on the Xbox Store are kind of stunning. No pre-orders or price news though. So, if you’re as curious as I am about how this all pans out, keep an eye out. Maybe you’ll spot some sneak peeks online?
It’s weird, right? Watching all this unfold… but maybe you’ve got a take? Share in the comments if you feel like it. Oh, and heads-up on those affiliate links, they help keep things running here. If you snag something via those, we might get a small cut. Just putting it out there.
