They dropped this bombshell at AWE USA during the VR Game Spotlight — honestly, I wasn’t even paying attention at first. But now? Color me intrigued.
Picture this: Team 21 Studio basically woke up and said, “You know what? Let’s make some waves.” So, they’re tossing the whole paid game thing out the window for Quest and Steam, rolling out some level 11-20 action. If you’re already hanging out in Ilysia’s world, don’t worry, you’re all good. Existing players won’t get booted off the ride.
Oh, and if you were one of those early birds who threw cash at this game, Team 21 Studio’s got your back. They’re gifting y’all a ‘Founder’s Pack’. What’s in the bag? A glider that’s visually, um, unique — whatever that means — an exclusive character title, and some snazzy cosmetics. Pretty neat, right?
This whole free-to-play shindig isn’t brand new in the VR MMO universe. Zenith: The Last City tried something similar before it switched gears and became Zenith: Nexus. They added a free zone while turning the original stuff into DLC. Oh, and OrbusVR: Reborn—the OG VR MMORPG—also kinda disappeared from existence earlier this year. So, let’s see if Ilysia rides this wave or wipes out.
