Okay, so, imagine this: I’m chilling a bit, ya know, decompressing after the whole ‘writing about Elden Ring Nightreign patch’ day. It was just supposed to be a minor update — like, the kind where you’re sipping coffee while skimming through. But what happens when I’m like, shutting down my computer? Boom! Actual news just drops, and I’m not even kidding, no big announcement or anything.
So, uh, FromSoftware jumps in with this wild thing — enhanced fights against Nightlords, right? They called ‘em Everdark Sovereigns. Catchy name, huh? The first one pops up — no warning — and everyone’s scrambling to check it out. Players say they’re way tougher. I mean, why am I not surprised?
Apparently, each week we get a new Sovereign to battle, but get this, you need to have beaten the Nightlord before. The current contender? Sovereign of Gaping Jaws (Adel). Yeah, Adel’s just hanging around till next Thursday, June 25. Then it’s on to Sentient Pest. What a name, seriously.
FromSoft’s got plans for more like Tricephalos and others — no clue when they’ll show up though. Oh, and there’s a new NPC — think side-quest meets shopkeeper. They’re bartering Sovereign Sigils for cool stuff and letting you mess with the game’s Shifting Earth/Map events. Nice, right? Saves you the hassle of taking down three Nightlords just to trigger the next event.
Players are still figuring this out — all I’ve gathered is that you need a game plan, maybe a guide who knows? Anyway, heads up for those Sigils and Everdark challenges if you’re diving back in. Or if you’re like me and just processing all this — maybe over another cup of coffee.
