Alright, so where to start? Phasmophobia, the VR horror game that’s made us all scream more than we’d like to admit, is gearing up for something big. You know, with its ‘Chronicle’ update coming next month. And when I say big, I mean like a full-on makeover for how we gather spooky evidence. Like, bye-bye old ways, hello three new evidence types. One’s all about sounds. Yeah, sounds. The kind that might just make your hair stand on end—Spirit Box chatter, paranormal whispers, all captured on this cool three-tiered Sound Recorder.
And check this out, they’re shaking things up with the journal too. Remember the good ol’ Photos tab? That’s taking a backseat for a new Media tab. Fancy, huh? Now, it isn’t just random snapshots of ghosts. Everything, photos, videos, and those eerie sound clips, get stored there. It’s kinda cool because if you’re the first to grab evidence, it gets tagged as ‘Unique.’ Like having the first slice of cake at a party, but more spine-chilling. Extra cash and XP thrown in too, because why not?
Oh, and they’re not stopping there. Word on the street is they’re redoing the whole levelling and progression thing. New main menu UI? Yep, that’s happening too, along with the usual bug squash. I almost forgot! There’s a Grafton Farmhouse facelift in the works, and later this year, player characters are getting a revamp. Maybe I’m more excited than I should be?
June 24th is the big day for the Chronicle update. Until then, you can get spooked playing Phasmophobia on Steam or PlayStation VR2.
