Oh man, so, here’s the deal with the final Dune Awakening beta. It just went live and, honestly, it’s a big deal because a bunch of new players are diving into this Funcom open world MMO thing for the very first time. This beta, it’s just covering the first two big zones. So, it’s like a sneak peek at what the early game looks like. Not the whole shebang, but, you know, a taste.
Here’s a funny thing, right? They announced this beta right after they decided to push the game’s release to June 10. Like, seriously, what? It was all set for May 15 before, so maybe this is their way of saying, “Hey, sorry about the wait!” It kinda makes you wonder if they just needed more time or were trying to keep people hyped. Or maybe both?
Oh, and the cookies thing – I mean, who doesn’t change their cookie settings every once in a while? Anyway, ignore that bit.
So, for most average gamers like you and me, this is the big introduction. Our preview (from last month, can you believe it?) was totally digging the early game, yet we’re all scratching our heads about what’s gonna happen in the end-game. They’ve talked a big game about it, but seeing is believing, right?
To jump into this beta, you gotta wishlist the game on Steam. Then you sit around and pray for an email with access. Or, cross your fingers for a developer giveaway. Yep, some luck of the draw stuff has already been sent out, but who knows? Maybe you’ll be on the lucky list this weekend. Just wishlist it, because, why not? A little chance is better than none, or so they say.
