Alright, so let’s dive into this little adventure. Naughty Dog’s up to their old tricks again—yep, we’re talking more tinkering with The Last of Us. You’d think they’d have moved on by now, but surprise! Outta nowhere, they drop this Chronological mode for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered.
So, if you remember—well, maybe you don’t, but anyway—the 2020 game had this whole time-hopping, brain-bending narrative. Ellie’s over here stomping through Seattle, all raw nerves and revenge vibes. Boom, then we whip back in time, and suddenly it’s Abby’s world. Turns out, Abby’s got her own beefs, shadows, and a big ol’ grudge against Joel. Can’t say I blame her—complex characters and all that jazz.
Now, with this new mode, you get to follow the story in the “right” order. You zig-zag between Ellie and Abby, straight up to their epic face-off. Naughty Dog thinks this might, I dunno, unlock deeper meanings or something? Like when you finally figure out where that missing sock went. They say on some bloggy thing—try the original first, though. Maybe they’re onto something, or maybe it’s just game dev talk.
Oh, and get this: Uncharted 4 skins for our pals Tommy and Joel. Complete that Chronological mode, and bam—you get ’em. Plus, for trophy chasers, there’s new shiny things to collect. And who can forget bugs—fixes for those too, both PS5 and PC. Or so they claim.
The Last of Us Part 2 hit the scene in 2020 for PS4, then got the PS5 glow-up in 2024, before gracing PCs. And just because they could, they threw it into the Complete Collection with Part 1’s remake in 2025. Do they ever sleep? Maybe not, but I clearly need a nap now.
