Whoa, so here’s the scoop, and full disclosure—I’m just going freestyle here. Techland, yeah, those folks who gave us Dying Light with its crazy parkour and flesh-eating zombies, seems like they’re rustling up something different. Remember Call of Juarez? Kinda faded in the Xbox 360 and PS3 dust but hang on—it’s coming back. How or why? Not a clue, but rumor mill’s churning.
They snagged the rights back from Ubisoft way back in 2018. Why that took so long to turn into action? Who knows. And hey, in this chaotic world of gaming layoffs and what not, Techland hit the cancel button on a couple projects too. Something Star Wars-ish called “Project Cornerstone” got the axe, but they’re tight-lipped on the other one. Makes you wonder, right?
And speaking of wondering, Dying Light’s got this thing—The Beast—dropping soon. Supposed to be just an add-on but decided to do its own thing. Standalone or whatever. Anyway—no, wait, back to them cowboys—it seems like Techland’s not just about the undead. They got this new Call of Juarez built on Unreal Engine 5, fancy stuff, since their old games ran on Chrome Engine.
Now, are we getting a sequel or a reboot? Who knows—but fingers crossed, right? It feels like forever in game years since we heard anything. Fans gotta be itching for maybe a remastered version too—but don’t quote me on that.
This game’s probably been cooking for a bit, but the official reveal? Yeah, still MIA. And if you’re keeping tabs, maybe they’ll surprise us come December at The Game Awards. Or maybe not—I’m just the messenger, after all.
Stay tuned, I guess.
