Oh man, here we go. So, PM Studios and Pocket Trap have finally spilled the beans—well, not literally; that’d be messy—on when Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo is coming to Nintendo Switch. Yeah, it’s happening!
So get this, they’re calling it “Yoyovania.” It’s a bit like Castlevania, I guess, but with a yoyo. You dive into this 2D top-down mishmash of a platformer, starring Pippit, who’s apparently a yoyo prodigy or something. There’s a weirdly intriguing plot too. I mean, who knew your aunt’s business could be tied up with soul-stealing lasers and some pretty dastardly crime lords? But alas, that’s video games for ya. So, grab your yoyo and get ready to… uh, discipline some baddies?
Oh, and the tricks! Every new yoyo trick basically flips your view of the whole game. We’re talking secret areas, weird challenges, and just bizarre situations. You might even feel like a convoluted Spider-Man with all that swinging—just minus the webs and cool suit. Anyway—wait, what’s next?
Right! They spilled some feature beans as well, and I’m not talking green beans. You’re exploring this city with four districts, trying to crack through more than a thousand screens. Yes, you read that right, over a thousand! Full of puzzles, enemies, the usual. You’re infiltrating these crime dens, which really do sound like some twisted labyrinth—perfect for getting lost if you’re prone to daydreaming like me.
And don’t forget your yoyo skills. Those babies will let you parkour around the city, basically making the world your yoyo gymnasium. And if you’re competitive or a collector (or just love badges for quirky reasons) there are like 40 badges to unlock. Plus, there’s this sketchy loan shark throwing out passive upgrades. Gotta love some shady dealings, right?
Collectibles galore too! More than 80, ranging from life upgrades to precious treasures. Who doesn’t love a good treasure hunt in a virtual world?
Anyway, mark your calendars or set those reminder thingies. Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo is dropping on the Nintendo eShop worldwide on May 28, 2025. Can you believe that’s not even that far away? Geez, time flies when you’re trying to comprehend a yoyo adventure.
And hey, if you’re curious about what this game looks like, there’s a trailer floating around somewhere. Might be worth a watch if you’re into that sort of thing. But that’s another story for another time.
