After two weeks of buzz around tariffs, we finally have a concrete date for when you can preorder the Switch 2 in the United States.
Today, Nintendo has officially announced that preorders for the much-anticipated Switch 2 will open on Thursday, April 24. As for the pricing, it’s set at $449.99 for just the console, and $499.99 if you’d like the system bundled with Mario Kart World digitally. Those figures haven’t changed from what was initially announced.
However, there’s a catch regarding accessories. Thanks to the ever-changing landscape, some accessory prices are seeing an increase. The Switch 2 Pro Controller now comes in at $84.99 US MSRP, and a pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons will set you back $94.99, each having been bumped up by $5. If you’re looking to snag an additional dock set, that’s an extra $10, now totaling $119.99. Joy-Con straps have inched up by $1 to $13.99, with several other accessories also seeing a $5 hike. You can find a complete list of updated hardware prices, along with the confirmed pricing for Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza in the images included in this article.
Meanwhile, our friends up north in Canada should also be able to start their preorders on the same day. Although this probably won’t be officially confirmed today because of a national holiday, Nintendo of Canada has assured us that the date and pricing align closely with those of their southern neighbors.
